The Nursing and Midwifery Council today announced that from the 1st April 2019, the costs of test for overseas applicants will be reduced by more than 20%.

The CBT will reduce from £130 to £90, whilst the OSCE will reduce from £992 to £794. This is a combined reduction of nearly £240.

Additionally, new proposals which will be considered at the next Council meeting on 27th March will look at the route back into nursing following a career break. It has been suggested that a test of competence to demonstrate skills and knowledge be offered, and the existing return to practise courses would no longer have a minimum duration of three months.
